Five steps to assemble Opaqueit

Step 1: Arrange the Side Frames

Unbox the side frames and lay them on a smooth, level surface. Align them parallel with the inner channels facing each other to prepare for assembly.

Step 2: Align the Top and Bottom Frames

Lay the top and bottom frames parallel to one another and ensure the numbered markings on the connecting ends correspond correctly.

Step 3: Attach the Frames

Connect the fabric and side frames with the top and bottom frames to complete the assembly.
Afterward, close the blinds to check that they lock into place correctly.

Step 4: Adjust the Cord Tension

(Skip this step if the blinds latched correctly in Step 3)

Use the provided screwdriver to turn the two adjustment screws in either direction until the internal cords are tightened. Ensure both sides are adjusted evenly.
Note: Increasing cord tension will require more force to close the blinds. Adjust according to your preference—cords that are too loose may prevent full closure and cause the blinds to spring open.

Step 5: Attach the Corner Caps

Press the 8 included corner caps into place on all frame corners, with 4 on the front and 4 on the back. Ensure each cap is properly seated to safeguard the edges and block light gaps.

Six steps to install Opaqueit Blinds

Step 1: Separate the Weather Strip

Divide the provided weather strip evenly into two parts.

Step 2: Peel Off the Backing

Remove the protective liner from the weather strip to reveal the adhesive surface.

Step 3: Install the Weather Strip

Apply the weather strip along all four sides of the guard, making sure each side is fully covered with no gaps.
Note: Position the weather strip as high on the frame as possible for best results.

Shape the Corners Properly

Do not pull the weather strip tightly around the corners. Keep it relaxed and firmly seated, forming a neat 90-degree corner to match the frame. Over-stretching can create gaps where light may leak in.

Step 4: Peel Off the Backing

Remove the protective liner from the brush strip to reveal the adhesive surface.

Step 5: Install the Brush Strip

Apply the brush strip along all four sides of the frame, positioning it directly next to the weather strip.
Note 1: Cut the brush strip at each corner. In the final assembly, the side strips should extend slightly past the frame edge, while the top and bottom strips should end flush with the frame. This creates a clean 90-degree corner on all sides.
Note 2: Position the brush strip as low on the frame as possible, behind the weather strip, to ensure the best appearance once the blinds are installed.

Step 6: Place and Check the Blinds

Insert the blinds into the window recess at a slight angle (around 70 degrees). Guide the bottom in first and press it securely, then push the top into place. After installation, test the blinds by opening and closing them.
